Here is a life time opportunity to meet Live with Alh. Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest and most successful entrepreneur by participating in the “Ask Alh. Aliko Dangote” quiz.

 

This is the opportunity Youngstars Foundation, partnering with the World Economic Forum – Young Global Leaders (YGLs) in Nigeria is giving youths by producing a short film documentary featuring Alh. Aliko Dangote titled “I Believe”.

The objective of the film documentary is to spark among youths in Nigeria and Africa the consciousness that we can transform Africa for good in one generation through entrepreneurship and self belief, using Alh. Aliko Dangote’s story  as a model of mass inspiration and reorientation among emerging young entrepreneurs.

Special Highlight:

Two Nigerian youths, one male and one female shall get the chance to be part of the documentary recording with Alh. Aliko Dangote. to be one of those 2 lucky youths, you have to answer the question below.

Quiz Modality:

• Only One Answer to the quiz question is allowed, those who send more than one answer shall be disqualified.
• An answer should not exceed 2 sentences or the size of a GSM Text Message.
• The quiz will be open for 2 weeks beginning from Monday 25^th June to Friday 6th July 2012 midnight.
• All the answers received shall be reviewed and 2 youths selected from the entries to participate in the video recording.
• The winners shall be announced between 12^th  and 13^th July on Youngstars website.
• Only answers posted on “Ask Alh. Aliko Dangote” Group on Youngstars Foundation website shall qualify for consideration.

• Log in or sigup with Youngstars Foundation www.youngstarsfoundation.org
• Then on the website, click to join “Ask Alh. Aliko Dangote” Group and then post your  answer to the quiz there.
• Please make sure your full names and phone number is on your profile field during registration so that we can easily contact you if you emerge as a finalist.

Eligibility:

Young  people between the ages of 18 and 30, residing in Nigeria. Please note  that winners shall be required to present validation of their ages before the documentary recording.

By submitting a response and entering for the above quiz on Youngstars Foundation website, you have accepted the following:

1.     You shall abide by the final decision of Youngstars Foundation in announcing the winners for the quiz and shall not in any way contest the result of the quiz competition.

2.     You shall not claim any rights or royalties whatsoever from either Youngstars Foundation, The Dangote Group of Companies, the World Economic Forum and YGLs, or any corporate entity associated with the project in the case that any of the questions asked in the film documentary is similar to a question entry submitted by you.

Call for Essays: Book in Honor of Professor, Novelist and Poet Theodora Akachi Ezeigbo

Celebrating the African Amazon: Essays in Honour of Professor Theodora Akachi Ezeigbo.

Teacher, theorist, critic, novelist, playwright, children literature author, short story writer, journalist and poet, Professor Theodora Akachi Ezeigbo, has had an eventful and well-decorated career at the University of Lagos spanning over three decades. During this period, Professor Ezeigbo made a name for herself as a competent teacher and novelist-scholar by formulating the influential “snail-sense” feminist theory which prioritizes dialogic and complementarist ethos in both the creative and critical literary practice in post-colonial African literature. To celebrate this Nigerian Amazon and Queen of Letters, the Department of English of the University of Lagos is proposing a book of essays mainly based on her impressive oeuvre as well as related interest areas in her honour. Accordingly, contributors may focus on, but are not restricted to the following areas:

- Literary theory/African Literature
- Comparative Literature
- Issues in Feminist
- Gender Studies
- Cultural Studies
- Igbo Metaphysics
- Politics of Sexual/Textual Exegesis
- Politics of Survival
- War Literature
- Language, Philosophy and the Nigerian Question
- History, Oral Tradition and Memory
- Film, Drama and poetry and the Woman Question
- Language and Literature

Papers should not exceed twenty (20) pages, typed in Times New Roman (12) font size. Paper Title, Author’s name, institutional affiliation, and e-mail address (es) should be on a separate page.

Contributors are required to note and adhere strictly to the following deadlines:

• Deadline for Receipt of papers: 31st May, 2012
• Peer-review Process: 1st June – 30th June, 2012
• Revision of Papers by contributors: 1st July – 30th July, 2012
• Expected Date of Release: 1st October, 2012.
